What do YOU want to be “Better at”
This year we launch our new motto/mantra/theme/statement to hang our hats on, “Better at.”
We are not a muscle gym. We are not a ‘no pain no gain’ crowd. We are not the sort of place where you have to look perfect and/or know how to work out perfectly in order to be here. (*** We love all that by the way, no judgement being cast— just describing a little bit of the DNA of our vibe).
We ARE a come as you are, just show up, turn up, at what ever level you are at from novice to expert. We are a family vibe, much of our members have fostered friendships that are more like fr-amily now.
Working out at a gym is a vulnerable space. It can be an anxious space, for males and females alike. It can be a place where some really have to take a deep breath to step foot inside a facility. We know this.
The world tells us that we have to be resilient, skinny, strong, smart, a certain weight, invincible, immune to pain, successful and good at just about e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. The world tells us, daily, from just about every angle to be perfect.
We get it, but here at Transcend Fitness Club and Functional Training, we don’t want perfection from you. We just want you to be better. That’s it. What is one thing that you can prioritize to be ‘better at.’ Fitness or not fitness related. What is it?
For me, (Allison, hi) I actually want to be better at 40. I am 35 right now. And I’ve really only started my fitness journey over the last 17 months. I can say with assurance that I am physically stronger now then when I was 30. That physical strength, for me, directly computes to strength in every other area of my life; marriage, parenting, running a business alongside my husband, being a good friend, the list goes on- you get the point. So for me, my goal for this year (and the next while) is to be better at 40. I want to be physically stronger and more capable when I am older then I am now. Hopefully I will have mastered “snatches” by then :). Hopefully.
What do YOU want to be better at. We aren’t going for perfection. Perfection isn’t real, but better is. Think about it. Tell us your story any time on social media #Betterat, let your trainers know what your #betterat is. We are all aiming to be better at something. Let’s do this together!
