WORKOUT AND WINE: FREE LADIES NIGHT!

LADIES NIGHT

Workout and wine is sneaking up on us, have you registered? It’s not too late!

Here’s a quick recap of the event details:

Friday, October 25th at 6pm

FREE event for all our members and their friends.

We will do a workout that is scalable and suitable for all fitness levels, and most importantly there will be fun.

It’s a BYOB and we will provide light snacks. However, some members have asked to bring snacks too (you ladies are the best), and that is most welcome! Now is the time to show off your cooking skills (or your pick up from the prepared foods aisle at McCaffrey’s skills, ahem).

One last thing- who hates PRESENTS.  No one. Well, guess what?  We have presents for your friends when they come AND ALSO, when you share our event on your social media pages with the hashtag #workoutandwineTFC YOU automatically enter the drawing to win a lovely hamper of vino.

We can’t wait to host you, our coaches and team are looking forward to this event and are laughing already!  Join us, it’s free, there’s wine (for all the over 21’s) and there’s us (we’re a riot). You’re out of reasons not to come!

Sign up at the front desk/ or our Facebook event page or eventbrite.

Finding Your Why

Why do you work out?

“I want to lose 10 pounds for my wedding”

“I want to have a six pack for vacation”

“I will be eating a ton of food this weekend when I travel”

Yes, those are reasons for working out. But, we encourage you to find a bigger “why”- short term goals  are great motivators, but often once we’ve accomplished that goal we fall out of our habits again.

So, what is truly your why underneath it all? There should be a specific, meaningful motivation behind your workouts. Maybe you want to have better energy to keep up with your kids, maybe you want to be strong enough to lift up and play with your grandkids.

If you’re not sure where to start, try answering these questions below to start you on your path:

  • How do you want to feel?
  • Who are you doing this for?
  • What makes you feel proud or accomplished?

Define your why and then write it down somewhere you can see it. Maybe it’s on a post-it note in your bathroom. Maybe it’s in your Reminders App on your phone. Maybe it’s in a daily journal.

Then, write out your schedule on a Sunday and find a few days for a 30-45 minute workout. This way you plan for your workout days all week instead of feeling rushed to try to fit it in at the last minute.

What ever your “why” is, we support you and can’t wait to see you at Transcend!

Transcend Member Spotlight: Jackie Luber

We’re excited to feature Transcend Fitness Club Member, Jackie Luber, for our Member Spotlight this month. Jackie is an incredibly dedicated member of TFC and a pleasure to everyone she’s around at the gym. Thank you, Jackie, for being such a great member of our community!

How long have you been a member at Transcend Fitness?

I have been a member at Transcend for about a year.

What is a typical day like for you outside of the gym?

A typical day is getting my children up and ready for school, packing lunches, cleaning, laundry, computer work, and then picking the kids up and taking them to activities.

What do you enjoy most about Transcend?

I love working out with my trainer, Michelle.  She customizes my workouts to help me reach my goals.  She always encourages me and pushes me to work hard.

What is something not many people know about you?

Not many people know that I taught a pilates based workout called the Lithe Method in Philadelphia when I was in my 20s.

Do you have any tips for anyone just starting out with a work out routine?

Pick an attainable goal, start off slowly, and build up each day.  The sense of satisfaction when you accomplish your goal will be worth all of the hard work.
